Food Pantry

The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) Ambulatory EversCare Clinic operates a community food pantry in partnership with the Mississippi Urban League through the Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities.

The EversCare Food Pantry was created in partnership with Mississippi Urban League and Mississippi Food Network to address food insecurity and other social factors that affect health, particularly for patients and families in the Jackson community. Through this partnership, nutritious food items are distributed to individuals and families in need.

The Mississippi Urban League plays a key role in managing and maintaining the onsite food pantry, supporting distribution efforts, and ensuring that food is available for community members and patients referred by their healthcare providers.

This collaboration helps connect health care services with essential food resources, improving access to healthy food and supporting better overall health outcomes for the community.
